Inside BSI Crew Training
8 Sep 2026BSI Editorial4 min read

Good crewing does not stop at recruitment. Before our seafarers join a vessel, they pass through a training pipeline built around the real demands of energy transportation: LNG, LPG, oil and chemical trades.
The program combines classroom sessions with simulator time — bridge and engine room — and scenario-based safety training. Officers rehearse cargo operations and emergency responses; ratings drill the fundamentals until they are second nature.
We also invest in the soft skills that make crews work: communication in mixed-nationality teams, reporting culture, and the confidence to stop a job when something is not right.
The result is measurable — stronger vetting performance for our principals and faster career progression for our crew. Training is not a cost at BSI; it is the product.
